bad advice in there joe, imo. she says not to skip meals, especially breakfast in order to increase metabolism. as a fervent warrior dieter I know this is not the case.

you should read devanys latest blog entry about this as well. intermittent fasting, of at least 12-15 hours is necessary to really mobilize fat and optimize hormones.

devanys other blog entry on gene expression also talks about how constantly refueling carbs directly after exericse is not the best way to maximise the training effect.

Different strokes for different folks Rif. The Warrior diet does not work for me, although I must say my thinking it slighly enhanced when I fast on the morning. The problem for me is that I feel as weak a kitten and I lose muscle mass fast. Skipping meals for hormonally blessed mesamorphs is not a big issue, for muscle challenged ectomorphs, it's the opposite. The warrior diet will not work for everyone just as the mulitple meals per day won't for everyone either. Very individual and RESULTS speak louder than words!!!! I am glad you have found the warrior diet the optimal one for you. Many people in the Dragon Door community seem to agree with you.

gentleman, great conversation topic. I like what both of you have said, Rif I am similar to you in that the Warrior has and works the best for me. I wish my body was more like your Franzs and need more food...lol, because I love to eat.

Nice contributions gents, you both have great points.

franz, its not jus the warriro diet. devanys posts about the need for intermittent fasts( he then eats two to three meals after that) and the ability to develop the fat burning mechanisms and the differing hormone porfile to me is the key.

eating too many starchy carbs during the day is just not necessary for most trying to burn fat. jmo.

as Steve Maxwell says" live on your own fat for energy"

When you skip breakfast and felt weak, have you had full on eat til your are full meal the night before? big difference. I have found many of the people who did not like warriro diet were not 'overeating' at night. you cant fast during the day and then count calories at night.

BTW I am a natural ecto.I was 130 when I got out of college while always eating like a pig .

oh and I agree if one is trying to increase mass( actual weight) then warrior is definitely not the way to go.but a period of fasting each day would still be beneficial imo.

Rif,

The concept of fasting is very interesting too me. I have found it to be beneficial on many fronts and see to be a natural aspect of the human way of eating. Cultures such as Muslims have a period of 40 days each year where they fast and others do the same.

I am a fan of this and I have found that through using the Warrior my bod needs much less food than I thought and this is more true when I eat real health, organice foods such as lean meats and Veggies and even fruits.

Awesome post and I will read more of Devaneys thoughts.

Agree with the fact that minimizing starches during the day is key to a lean body and an energetic mind/body

the muslim fast of Ramadan is actually a warrior diet variation. they fast during the day and eat after dark
