Moving on Up

Workout #1

Deadlift
Warm-up
135/2x1
225/2x1
275/2x1
315/2x1
365/1x1
405/1x1
425/1x1....getting heavier
455/1x2 sets

No belt and a mixed grip from 315 to 455

455: Felt strong. I noticed the weight though. For the first timemy body felt like it had a significant weight. Moved right up, no struggle just a lot of respect for the bar and weight. Looking forward to next week, should be an interesting day to say the least....maybe 475 to 485

wow. very good. especially with no belt. I would go up next week but I would wear your belt. for sure.since you havent had that load on your spine and core sometimes even though you can do something, its not the best thing to do. since you just started back dl'ing I would wear the belt, look for

405x1
430x1
465x1

then decide from there. 475 or 485.
you are very close to 100%(especially beltless)so you have to go slow.

right now you want to build your base, not peak.what percentage effort would you gauge your sets of 455? how fast did it go?
